I tried this recipe this past Saturday and it was easy and turned out amazing. Mine had a much more, uh "rustic" look to it though since I didn't have a fancy pie plate, or edge trimmer and it leaked a bit during baking...BUT, it tasted SO good. I used fresh blueberries and lessened the sugar as well. I couldn't believe how easy and yummy the crust was. That's always what's deterred me from making a pie. I'm hooked now and will use this crust recipe again for different pies. I substituted Crisco for lard though and it tasted great. Thank you for posting it.

Yummers! I agree - making pies are definitely therapeutic (unless you are trying but failing at making a gluten-free pie for a friend on July 4th). This looks really yum - surprised i skipped over the recipe in F&W!

I'm still trying to figure out how to make pie without using cornstarch or sugar. If you have any tips, email me! I found a spelt pie crust recipe so that's a start.

Your pie is so pretty!

Beautiful Pie! I freely admit that the word "dough" scares me. I just haven't overcome that hurtle in cooking quite yet. I have noticed the quality of farmers market berries compared to store bought berries and the price difference is not that much. Wish I was around this week to participate in Market week.
